Hi, my name is Vedran , I am from Croatia and I drive a 97' Daewoo Espero

So here it is..

it was like this before I got my hands on it





I bought some new rims, from factory 185/65/14 I went to 215/35/18



I had to put some track spacers on the rear axle , 2cm on each side




but then it was normaly very high , it looked like a monster truck
so , I ordered Eibach springs -30mm for it, but by mistake they gave me -30mm for Nexia , and it lowered the front about 70mm and the rear about 40mm , I was very pleased









that was it for a while..

then the project started

because of the big rims, the rear brakes looked silly , so I got the rear axle from a Vectra 2.0

first I dissasembeled it..because it was rusty and didn't work ..

I got rid of all the rust and painted it in mat black

the callipers were repaired , fitted with new parts..

after a while driving and parking , I scratched a rim , so I decided to repair them and paint them

all the signes are removed from the car, the frot is given a bad look , the rear is changed , rust is fixed , fenders are pulled out etc.

The car was then driven 100km like that

The custom front and rear bumper are being made at the moment , as well as the custom sideskirts and rear wing, I expect it to be finished and painted by the end of the week, so till the next report ...

Anyway , the car is running great.. 170HP is a lot more than 95HP ..

Anyway ...the engine is a 2.0 16V C20XE from a Calibra.. it's not stock ..60 mm exhaust pipes , intake modified , chipped , lowered head , port & polished head etc ..

It was measured on dyno MAHA brake .. it gave out 172BHP and 140WHP ..

The car runs around 7 seconds flat from 0-100kmh.. and around 15 sec on 402..


Can you please write some comment in ENGLISH ? Because I don't understand your language very well..
  
 
Not bad. But 18" rims and lower, harder suspension? You want to loose all plugs from your teeth? Because of our roads it's impossible to put on the board such a rims. 17" is max.
You can add front break discs from Zafira (288 mm) and calipers from Saab 9-5 (as I good remember).
In my opinion, lots of work and it's not a blacksmith's work in a barn. I'm a bit jealous because of one main thing - POWER. I've got 90 HP and it's good... but for pensioners. I will be grateful even for Opel's 150 HP
If you want to have chairs with better side holding, put something from Vectra A GT, Calibra or Kadett. You can find even a Recaro chairs.
  
 
Right - the best in your car is a power of the motor...

Could you write some information about gear box and clutch ??? It seems to be a bit weak to this motor
  
 
I haven't gotten to the brakes yet ..I will do a mod soon ..288mm discs from Fiat Coupe ( 288mm 4x100 ) and brake callipers from calibra turbo..

When I give people a ride zhey are alway surprised at how soft the car feels on the road..our roads are also a dissaster , but I have hade the rims for a year now..and I wouldn't change them for anything...

The gearbox is standard D16 ..from the old engine..the clutch is stock from 2.0 16V ...The gearbox is strong enough ..it will not brake...a frend of mine had this engine ina a Lanos with the same gearbox..he had 172 HP + 70HP shot of nitrous... 240HP on dyno....and he ran that for almost a whole year...nothing broke...it was perfect...than he went to C20LET + 6 speed gearbox...

the table is under the fornt windshiel , it has been there for 6 months , I haven't gotten a ticket from the police JET ..

and you mean the fog lights ? ..there wont be any fog lights now... i only have to close the holes on the front bumper with a black net ..

I am thinking of swaping in a C20LET ..2.0 16V Turbo ..and putting a big intercooler in the midle hole ..

Yes, I write about fog lights..Mrrrruuu Turbo in Espero...My dream Heh

Well ..a 172 HP espero was a dream for me to ..but I decided and it was done in a couple of days .. Now as I say the dream is a woosh woosh Espero ..soon , very soon

(maybe in dollars or in euro will be easier?)

Well.. if you take the rims , tyres, lowered suspension , bodywork , bodykit , paint , brakes , engine , exhaust etc. .. around 3500 euros..

I didn't do everything over night ..it started around 1.9.2007. .and finished around 1.3.2008 ...

I actually don't have a lot of free time..so it took me very long to do this.. I'm 22' ..and a student with a job..
