MAD_DOGG F&F Sympatyk Ferrari killer & 100 ... Łódź | 2011-05-18 22:39:22 You do not need to touch the spring. You just need to weld the tube in the pump, like on this photo:
Looking at the photos I see that you are going to put there a 90 degree "elbow" pipe, so next thing you have to do is to weld the timming case cover around the "new hole" because it is very thin there. [on the photo that you gave it is also welded] |

The 126 Bambino is 126BIS (700cc water cooled engine) or ??? |
flapjck1 F&F Sympatyk mini urzut | 2011-05-22 22:19:23 bambino = 126 from italy ( not poland ) |
Krzemowy Fiat 126 Skoczów | 2011-05-22 22:20:32 126 Bambino is version of 126 with modified engine and some other things. Most important difference was modified cylinder head, it look similar(but not the same!) as in Panda. Thermostat housing fits nice on Panda head but ventilator housing not, because Panda head is a little bigger than Bambino, so IMHO modification of standard housing is best way of do it
there are some photos of Bambino engine Look on rear(flywheel) side of engine, Bambino crankcase is slightly different than standard 126. It will be nice to weld remaining aluminum plates you can see on Bambino crankcase to 126 crankcase(I didn't do it during preparing the engine and I still regret it). |

MAD_DOGG F&F Sympatyk Ferrari killer & 100 ... Łódź | 2011-05-24 10:33:30 It's importand because covers the cyllinders (it directs the air stream). But you can do it from the original tin termostat cover, you don't need to weld it on the engine block. I made it from standard cover, because I had no original. It is easy to cut, in the evening I will show you photo from the other side of the engine. Now the front - marked part is cut from original standard thermostat cover:

Darko123 Croatia, Zagreb | 2011-05-25 20:03:57 So the point is to seal all passes where air can go out before thermostat housing ?! |
MAD_DOGG F&F Sympatyk Ferrari killer & 100 ... Łódź | 2011-05-25 21:39:52 Yes, and not The most important thing is to cover the cyllinders sides if you don't do that, the cyllinders will have worse cooling. With this engine casing only the air that flows through the engine head goes to the thermostat cover (housing), and then inside the car. The air that flows through cyllinders goes to the engine compartment.
P.S. I forgot to do the photos... [ wiadomość edytowana przez: MAD_DOGG dnia 2011-05-25 21:41:29 ] |

MAD_DOGG F&F Sympatyk Ferrari killer & 100 ... Łódź | 2011-05-30 07:59:21 I bougt whole engine, so I had those covers, and they were in good condition - I only galvanized them.
But there is another possibility - you can drill bigger holes at the bottom of the head (where the original covers have their seats) and do the seats at the top of the head - then you can use original (long) valve tappets covers. |
jaqo F&F MEMBER 126elx + C classe Warszawa | 2011-06-02 11:11:27 By the way - it's called pushrod tube not tappet cover
It will be easier to find something on the internet that way. |
